~Summer at Camp Huckleberry~ A summer camp full of friends, fun, and... drama?

About: This story is about a girl named Kelsi Westen and how she goes to a summer camp in a totally new environment to her. Like if that wasn't enough, she always is in the middle of the drama.

Chapter 1

One hot, sticky summer day in the middle of June, Kelsi
Westen was lying on her bed, thinking about camp the next day. She had wished
to stay with her friends in town, but her mom thought it would be best to go to
a new camp in another state and make some new friends. She had originally
wanted to go to a two week sports camp – not sleep away – but her mom had made
her go to a six week sleep away camp in Tennessee.
Her mom suddenly broke her thoughts.
“Sweetie, lunch!” her mother, Judy Westen, called.
“Coming mom!” she called back. Kelsi ran downstairs and into
the turkey smelling kitchen.
“Your favorite, a turkey sandwich with mustard” her mom
handed her a plate with a big sandwich in the middle.
“Thanks mom” Kelsi took the plate and sat down at the red,
retro 70s looking table, with the matching chairs. She ate quickly, and then
went back upstairs to her room. She was finishing up packing. She would miss
her lavender covered walls and her comfy bed covered in a surfboard designed
comforter. She’d also miss her little Jack Russel, Artemis. Of course, she’d
also miss sunny California, where
she could surf anytime she wanted, because she lived down the street from the
beach. Once she had finished putting in the rest of her shirts, she had
realized that it had taken all day to pack.
“Dinner!” her mom called.
Kelsi raced downstairs once again. The kitchen now smelled
like lemony chicken. “What are we having for dinner tonight?” Kelsi asked as
she sat down at the table.
“Lemon pepper chicken breast” her mom replied, while setting
down a plate of steaming hot chicken breasts. They also had salad, broccoli,
and rice.
“You better go to sleep at 10” her mom said after dinner. It
was 8:30 pm now.
“Yeah, yeah, so I could get a good night’s rest and then
tomorrow I wouldn’t be so tired when I see everyone at camp” she said, she’d at
least heard this 100 times.
That night, Kelsi dreamt about the camp she was used to, the
sports camp. She dreamt about surfing, and then her dream turned into a
nightmare. She dreamt of how all the girls would be mean to her at camp, and
she would be the outcast.
